Investment Objective
The objective of the Desjardins Alternative Investments Fund is to provide unitholders with moderate income and long-term capital growth. To do so, the Fund invests mainly in real estate investment trusts (REITs), income trusts, real return bonds, Canadian federal or provincial Treasury Bills and top-quality Canadian money market securities. The Fund may also invest in a limited percentage of stocks and bonds of Canadian or international companies.

To achieve the Fund’s objective, the portfolio manager:
 | Uses a management style aimed at enhancing portfolio returns, generating moderate income and reducing risks via diversification;

 | Has the authority to make safe haven investments in the event of significantly negative market situations;

 | May use derivatives, particularly for reducing risks related to currency fluctuations;

 | May invest in foreign assets;

 | May undertake securities lending transactions to generate additional income. |
